On Instagram, I’m known as the Soup Queen and a Twilight girlie. I have a son and two cats, who keep me very busy on my time off. I don’t limit myself when it comes to interests. In my past life, I was a videographer and animator who ended up working in Corporate America. I realized that I couldn’t be the person I truly wanted to be in that environment and knew things had to change. I finally decided to leave that career and go back to esthetics school, and here I am. I love a good Gilmore Girls moment followed by a horror movie. I love doing Pilates and I also love rotting on the couch with a good romantasy novel. I love being social and making plans with friends and I also love being a homebody and my bed. I think life is all about balance. And laughter. Lots of laughter. And also soup, to be honest. While I take my job very seriously, I like to create a space that feels lighthearted and comfortable for each client who walks in the door. I know how intimidating it can feel walking into a traditional day spa. It’s my goal for you to never feel that way when you walk into our colorful space.

When looking at what Omaha had to offer, I noticed that many of the spas in the area are either dark and moody or they’re bright or neutral. While I love those vibes, too, it just didn’t feel like me. I always say that Mantis looks like the inside of my heart— colorful, bold, and so vibrant. 

Like many of you, I have also struggled with my skin. As an adult, I developed acne, which I had never in my life dealt with before. It felt humiliating. I had no idea what to do and I felt so uncomfortable going out in public. I loaded on makeup and hid my skin. I cried all the time and literally deleted every picture from that time that really showcased how my skin looked. I wish I hadn’t deleted those pictures now because I realize that they were important steps on my journey to clear skin. After becoming an esthetician, I decided to work towards becoming an acne specialist. It has been such a joy getting to work with my clients and seeing their confidence come back as their skin clears. While acne is a specialty of ours, we are also educated on working with a variety of skin conditions, skin colors, and genders.
